Blues in the Schools
The program aims to deliver educational experiences for young students (K-12) that will teach the heritage of the blues – the foundational musical form of rock and roll, jazz, rhythm & blues and contemporary popular music.
This musical education has been brought to hundreds of students throughout the region. The program is based on an interactive experience with professional blues music educators. The program can link directly to Canadian history in the movement of the art form through African slave culture brought to Canada via the underground railway.
