Youth Legacy Showcase

Each year in March the festival supports the Kitchener Blues Festival Youth Legacy Showcase. The event is open to young musicians throughout the Grand River area in Southwestern Ontario and beyond.

You can participate this year by filling out the 2012 application here at the Grand River Blues Society Web Site to get an idea of the entry requirements.

As in the past, this event demonstrated the depth of great talent which continues to grow in the youth of the community. Congratulations are in order for such a diverse display of fantastic young talent displayed by all of the young musicians.

Selected in 2012 to represent youth talent at the TD Kitchener Blues Festival is BRENDAN J. STEPHENS. Brendan is having a great year, and has been writing and recording new songs for his upcoming album. His opening slot on the main stage at this year’s festival will be a great thrill for him and we are sure that the crowd will enjoy every last drop of his powerful set.  He was part of the ‘re-opening’ weekend for the Boathouse and appeared at the Montreal Folk Festival in June of this year.
